A German forum on N7650 [translate using Google].  Is there an English one?

The Taiwan Nokia site has 11 tips to for the N7650.  Interesting screen shot showcasing the N7650 in Chinese.  Only thing is that I don't think Tip 3 works on the version of the phone in Singapore.

A great essay by Tim O'Reilly on piracy.

Spent some time reading it.  Piracy as a progressive tax is really an interesting idea

Now I might have some changing views on piracy.  However, I just cannot erase from my mind certain individuals I know that do not follow Lesson 3 in the Essay: Consumers want to do the right thing, if they can.  Some people will go all out to get pirated content, and happily show off the pirated contents unabashed, and I am pretty sure that there will not be a day that they will be paying for the original content.

On the other hand, I have always also believed that the popularity of Microsoft products in my part of the world (South East Asia) is probably due more to the fact that these products (Office, Visio, Windows OS etc) have been easily available over, than the marketing effort of Microsoft.

Was shopping in Bugis Junction the other day and happened to come across this interesting sight - a decorated parking-ticket machine. :)

Was checking out the referer pages that has links to my weblog, and found that someone has performed the search at Google for the search string "singtel website error in nokia phone price".

The story behind this is that the Singapore telco company SingTel made a pricing mistake for the new 6610 (or was it 6100) phone on its online site, and consumers that stumbled upon the mistake happily place orders for brand new models that cost them S$60 only.

Made some boo-boo when I uploaded the images last night.  They were link to my local machine, so I did not sense the problem.  Correct it already.

Ok, found the link to the German site.  It is called Gratis-Factory.  A good place with a list of information for almost all the Nokia phones.  This page contains Tips & Tricks pertaining to N7650, and the links you see when you scroll down to the bottom of the page (those starting with the word 'Hintergrundbilder') points to various pages with nice images prepared for standby screen.

[By the way, I do not understand German.  It was with the help from the Google Language Tool that I was able to make sense out of this site. :) ]

This is the phone standby image I have been using for the past week for my N7650.  Nice image that I got from a German website (looking for the link, will post it when I find it).

First, you will have to transfer this image to your phone either via IR or Bluetooth, or you really are experimental, you can try sending it via MMS.

To place it on your phone standby screen, go to Tools->Settings->Phone->Standby mode.

Click on Background Image, and choose "No" first.  Click again to choose "Yes", and you will see the list of images available in you Images application.  Choose the image that you want on the Standby screen.
