Gino Strada spiega perché è contro la guerra, rispondendo alle critiche di Miriam Mafai. Da IndyMedia (sarebbe un articolo di Repubblica ma chi lo trova è bravo)

La tesi della "guerra necessaria" per porre fine a feroci dittature è anche la critica più comune al movimento per la pace. Anche di ciò si dovrebbe discutere a lungo. Può darsi che il movimento per la pace non sia in grado di far cadere un dittatore, ma una cosa è assolutamente certa, che il movimento per la pace non ne ha mai creati né aiutati ad imporsi con armi e fiumi di denaro. Mi piacerebbe, e non credo di essere il solo, che ci fosse un ampio dibattito su questi temi, ed è una della ragioni dell'appello di Emergency e delle iniziative che prenderemo nei prossimi mesi.

Senza dimenticare tuttavia, quando si scrive di "guerre necessarie" e si fanno paralleli storici, che ci troviamo una nuova guerra all'orizzonte, oggi, contro l'Iraq. E che la nuova guerra, più che di libertà, ha una maledetta puzza di petrolio.

Non siamo soli. Va bene, è solo una speculazione e poi sono solo batteri, ma sembra che le analisi spettroscopiche dell'atmosfera di Venere abbiano rilevato gas che non ci dovrebbero essere e troppa poca anidride carbonica. Come se qualcosa (o qualcuno) aggiungesse gli uni e togliesse l'altra. Venere è un pentolone di acido ribollente, ma all'altitudine di 50 km le condizioni sono meno infernali (70°C, 1 atmosfera).
