Continuo con cose più serie.  Ho letto i due libri di Gino Strada: Pappagalli Verdi, e Buskashi. Per quanto si possa dire di Gino Strada lui là ci va davvero. 

In Pappagalli Verdi mi ha impressionato proprio la storia che dà il nome al libro. Una mina antiuomo russa, la PFM-1, in Afghanistan ha l'aspetto di un giocattolo. Un piccolo pappagallo verde. I bambini la prendono in mano ed è l'ultima cosa che toccano, o che vedono. Strada dice:

"[..] così abbiamo immaginato - sapendo che era tutto maledettamente vero - un ingegnere efficiente e creativo, seduto alla scrivania a fare bozzetti, a disegnare la forma della PFM-1. E poi un chimico. a decidere i meccanismi tecnici del meccanismo esplosivo, infine un generale compiaciuto del progetto, e un politico che lo approva, e operai in un'officina che ne producono a migliaia, ogni giorno

Non sono fantasmi, purtroppo, sono esseri umani: hanno una faccia come la nostra, una famiglia come l'abbiamo noi, dei figli. E probabilmente li accompagnano a scuola la mattina, li prendono per mano mentre attraversano la strada, ché non vadano nei pericoli, li ammoniscono a non farsi avvicinare da estranei, a non accettare caramelle o giocattoli da sconosciuti...

Poi se ne vanno in ufficio a riprendere diligentemente il proprio lavoro, per essere sicuri che le mine funzionino a dovere, che altri bambini non si accorgano del trucco, che le raccolgano in tanti. Più bambini mutilati, meglio anche se ciechi, e più il nemico soffre, è terrorizzato, è condannato a sfamare quegli infelici per il resto degli anni. Più bambini mutilati e ciechi, più il nemico è sconfitto, punito, umiliato. "

Oggi non ho molto da dire. Potrei stare zitto, invece mi metto in pari con l'arretrato di libri da commentare. Comincio da Senza Sangue di Baricco.

Il commento sarà breve. Risparmiate i soldi. Non nel senso che non dovete leggerlo, ma che è talmente corto (l'editore ha usato tutti i mezzi per riempirci un libro: font grandi, interlinea generoso margini oceanici) che vi conviene risparmiare i 20 euri e leggervelo a sbafo da Feltrinelli. Non è un cattivo modo di passare una mezzoretta.
