Many people blame oil as the root cause of turmoil in the Middle East, but current estimates suggest that water will soon eclipse oil as a primary source of contention around the world.

By 2050, water shortages brought on by booming populations, pollution and global warming, will affect between two billion and seven billion people around the world out of a projected population then of about 9.3 billion [AlertNet].

These are some big problems that we are facing that cannot be solved by war. Unfortunately, as long as world governments are run by reactionary individuals like George W. Bush, it is unlikely that these problems can be solved without huge losses of life and a great deal of pain and anguish for those who survive. 9:34:41 AM  permalink  comment []
