The concept of DNA computer that could detect and treat diseases such as cancer has been proven in the lab [Reuters]. The computer works by finding markers in a cell's RNA that indicate the presence of the target disease. If it finds the marker, it administers a drug or chemical to kill the diseased cell. This represents pinpoint precision in killing diseased cells. Actual treatments based on this technique are still potentially many years away, but proving the concept is awe inspiring. 4:41:18 PM  permalink  comment []
