"Pitchers and Pooches" Happy Hour with Dogs Andrew Weinstein, a volunteer with the Washington Humane Society, invites you to check out some adoptable dogs in a relaxed atmosphere:

"DC's first dog-friendly happy  hour, takes place on Wednesday evening at Adams Mill Bar and Grill in Adams Morgan, Washington DC at 18th Street and Columbia Road, NW.  6-8 p.m.  $10 donation at the door to benefit the Washington Humane Society.  Take your dog  for a walk after work to DC's first canine-friendly happy hour.  Don't have a  dog?  Come meet some of ours.  Adoptable foster dogs will also be attending.   (202) 667-4967.

"The Washington Humane Society is the oldest animal protection agency in Washington, D.C. Since 1870, WHS has served homeless, lost, and abused animals in the District of Columbia; providing protection from cruelty, shelter from the elements, and a second chance at a loving home. No call for help goes unanswered, and no animal is ever turned away." (We've visited the WHS and we were impressed with the clean facilities, the friendly people and with the dogs who receive the best of care. Volunteers are a big reason why the shelter is so successful in placing pets in loving homes.. )
