Dog saves mistress; bites flasher Okay, you know about the Florida thief who got his manhood scrapped by a police dog (and for a pack of cigarettes, no less). In St. Albans, a really stupid flasher went after a woman with a dog, and well, all's well that ends well,(except for the flasher, who got more than he bargained for)...

The hole that brings dead dogs to life What kind of water do they drink in Ellensburg, Washington. Locals report stories of a hole that revives dead dogs, emanates a 'black beam [light?]' and, as practical matter of life, served as the area's bottomless dump; supposedly, it measures more than 80,000 feet deep....

'Mason', the 'space' dog, eludes capture There's a dog running around Panama with a jar stuck over its head; apparently, the black lab is an accomplished escape artist who has also chewed her way through the bottom of the jar (good for her). Somebody catch this labrador, please....

Shelter charges for surrendered pets The SPCA in West Vancouver doesn't charge to take surrendered pets while the North Vancouver Humane Society shelter charges anywhere from $50 to $140 for each pet. Naturally, the SPCA shelter is experiencing an overflow.
The real question is: how do we stem the tide of discarded pets when people grow weary of them. Maybe all shelters should charge ...
