Your dog and the mailman Everyone knows of a dog who wants to take a chunk out of the mail delivery person. It only seems natural that mailmen/women would soon become less enamored of dogs. But that is not always the case. Our dog barks at the door when the mailman drops mail through the door slot; after all the poor dog's taking a nap and then 'bam!,' mail drops on his head. The only solution I have is to ban the dog from lounging near the front door and to keep him on a leash when the mailman nears. Outside, on the street, the mailman actually pets our dog and our dog warms to him. It's a universal story... Dog bites mailman
