A voice for dogs and curbing drug dealers. A bill banning the surgical silencing of pets is headed for the New Jersey state senate. The state assembly unanimously approved the so-called "debarking" measure Monday. Drug dealers use surgically silenced watchdogs as "stealth weapons," while dog owners have the surgery done to silence their pets.The bill would make it illegal to perform the operation without cause, with up to a 5 year prison sentence and $15,000 fine.

Apparently in Canada, leashed dogs are more aggressive than unleashed dogs. Do Canadians live in an alternate universe? Go figure...
