Nepal king offers animal sacrifice at Assam temple. Nepal Say what? "According to the priest, King Gyanendra sacrificed a buffalo, a goat, a sheep, a duck, and a pigeon [what -- no dog?] at the sacred altar. Animal sacrifice is a central part of worship at the temple with goats being offered almost daily, while on special holy days, buffaloes are sacrificed. Devotees believe the goddess Kamakhya answers the prayers of anyone who comes to pray and especially those who offer animal sacrifices. The official Nepalese royal priest, Acharya Raghunath Aryal, said the king prayed for "peace and prosperity" of his kingdom, which has been racked by a dragging Maoist insurgency that has claimed thousands of lives...." Although animal sacrifice is routinely prescribed in ancient hindu texts (unless they're misinterpreted into the english translation), that doesn't make it right. In response to the king's sacrifices, many Nepalese have declared their king insane and barbaric.

Well, some people want to be buried next to their dogs. If it's the neighbor's dog, it abominable; if it's your own dog next to you, it's an honor.
In yesterday's news: Man wanted to be buried in backyard next to dog Florida "All Rick Georges wanted was to be buried next to his dog Cefus in the backyard of the family's DeSoto County home..." Neighbors are petitioning against it, citing the precedent of human internment in a suburb.
