Home thanks

Web Services, people, software providers, writers and resources who have made this weblog more useful. A long overdue category... plus resources to never track of... First things first: this is not for "public consumption" this feed is raw, unedited bits of news gathered from the Web, direct quotes from savy bloggers. This is not meant as a weblog... noooo.... this is my personal treasure chest of knowledge... That said, I'm NOT WRITING it. got it? It's not for review or anything else... I'm hoarding it to a space on the web where I can go back and find it. Why, you say? : stupid computer, stupid browser, stupid bookmarks can't track this stuff like a Radioland feed can ... and having it on the web is so useful. Previous/Next

Dear reader: our webserver Radioland application crashed a few days ago (always a good excuse to take the dogs out to play) and I had to restore Dog News from an earlier backup. Thanks to Lawrence Lee's help, we're back; he is a genius with a patient side.

Here's what I learned: Blame it on the dog(s) (humor helps) and be patient... back up, back up, back up (I had a good back up only 1 week old... ) If you are a radiolander, it pays to compact your data files, read the user discussion, and keep offsite backups... especially if you have a dog...

For dog owners: don't permit your dog to curl up under your desk and drool all over the surge protectors (I'm vigilant, but my dog is more vigilant about getting under the desk). Our dogs want to wrap themselves around my chair, or get under my desk and snooze on top of cables and switches.
