Schwarzenegger Releases Data on Hitler Comments. Excerpts of a 25-year-old interview in which Arnold Schwarzenegger speaks admiringly of Hitler provided some additional context to comments made by the actor that were in a book proposal. By David D. Kirkpatrick. [New York Times: National] This along with revelations on Arnold's treatment of women and his prior orgiastic life-style paint a pretty dismal picture of this man. His complete lack of experience as a political leader begins to pale by comparison. The most glaring aspect of this whole affair is President Bush's avowed support. Arnold has probably trounced every principle the President espouses. So either President Bush does not hold his principles very deeply or else his support for Arnold is prostitution for the Republican party. Neither answer reflects well on the presidency.

'Quicksilver': The Original Information Age. Neal Stephenson's novel deals with the philosophy, economics and wars of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. By Polly Shulman. [New York Times: Books] I love Stephenson novels. Since this is a trilogy with Stephenson's trademarked complexity, should I wait until all three volumes are out or should I just plan to reread the first when the second arrives? Can I wait that long for another Stephenson fix?
