A few minutes ago I dropped my wallet and I believe that a guy that was asking for money picked it up. I had everything in that wallet and I really need to put a block on my CREDIT and my security. I don' t really know what to do PLEASE help me......

There are several things you must do quickly.
  1. Call the police and file a report (Keep a copy of it.)
  2. Call Equifax (1-800-525-6285), Experian (1-888-397-3742) and Trans Union (1-800-680-7289) to get a security alert added to your credit report.
  3. For any stolen credit cards, call the credit card companies. (Phone numbers are on your credit card bills.)
  4. Change locks on your home if keys were taken.
  5. Report the loss to your bank if an ATM card or checks were stolen. (Get a new card and new PIN number.)
After all the above, which should be done immediately, you'll want to consider all the other things you should do. A stolen wallet or purse doesn't necessarily mean you'll become an identity theft victim, but knowing your information is "out there," you need to check your credit report regularly.
