Remember Murray Leinster?  He was the dean of science fiction before Robert Heinlein.  His first novel published in 1919, for 50 years he pioneered virtually every sub-genre of SF story telling, such as alternate history and first contact stories.  Baen Books have just come out with Med Ship, that claims to be the first complete publication of the Med Ship Saga, in the sub genre of science fiction doctor stories.  Well I have read many of the stories in this collection, but the first in the book is not one I familiar with, so it worth getting.  The contents are:

  • Med Ship Man
  • Plague on Kryder II
  • The Mutant Weapon
  • Ribbon in the Sky
  • Tallien Three
  • Quarantine World
  • The Grandfathers' War
  • Pariah Planet

Baen plans to bring out additional such collections of Leinster's work, the next one will be a collection of his stories of adventures on other planets.
