I rode my bike to work and as I approached downtown St. Paul I was thinking, "that's funny, whenever I ride my bike, something unexpected happens. I see a coyote or a fight or get an insight into the structure of the universe. But today, nothing happened." Then I looked up and saw a huge pillar of black smoke with fireballs shooting up out of the roof of a power plant near the Science Museum. Traffic was all backed up and there was ash in the street. I rubbed my eyes and looked again and it was still there. It was beautiful. Here are some reports about it:
