More ELS stuff:
So, when I query for distinct customer name and customer address I get 799869 fishing license holders and when I query for a count of customer ID, I get 800349 license holders. This either means that 400 license holders have identical First, Middle, Last Name and street address, or 400 people are listed under more than one customer ID. The ELS detective must find out.

My experience with sql*loader might be helpful to some one else, so I posted the procedure here. I also have the O'Reilly book "Oracle SQL*Loader The Definitive Guide" It is a good book and if you want to borrow it (and you work for the MPCA or DNR) , let me know.
