Just came back from a trip to Brainerd. We had a big meeting where we combed through 25 pages of requirements for the new program. People definitely need to be able to do data entry off-line. They also want to be able to do fish weight regressions by lake type, species, and statewide.. This is for when they measure a fish but are too lazy to weigh it. They use statistics to calculate how much that fish they measured is likely to weigh. The Brainerd office of the DNR has been emptied out by budget cuts and restructuring. It is no longer a regional headquarters so there is this big empty building with a skeleton crew.
