Drive For Democracy Visits Santa Fe
Drive for Democracy: Santa Fe, Devoted to Dean.
We’re at a New Mexican restaurant in Santa Fe after the great grand opening of the Santa Fe for Dean office, and I’m opening up the blog to the Santa Fe crew:
I’m Miriam McCaffrey, an artist. I liked Dean from day 1. A very exciting day – the opening of Dean Headquarters in Santa Fe and lots of pledges to work. I’m committed more than ever. Tell Dean to keep smiling!

This is Charlotte Roybal from Santa Fe. I am disappointed that Zephyr did not order green or red chile. The last crew from Vermont swallowed our salsa whole including Dr Dean. Today was great for us here with Zephyr and her gang and mostly her enthusiasm. She is trying to recruit us all to go IOWA. WE probably will head that way. Are
aren’t we nearby?
Opening our Santa Fe office in a downtown neighborhood will help us organize.Today like most days is a great day! Everyday Howard Dean gives all of us hope.

This is Carlos Trujillo from Chimayo, Chimayo is a small village in northern New Mexico with stunning scenery and sacred ground. I was really excited to meet Zephyr, Ryan and Dave, there excitement, excites others to continue there dedication to the next President of the US Howard Dean. The opening of the Santa Fe office was a great success. We need all you bloggers out there to come to New Mexico to help us win our caucus. Adelante con Dean!! Carlos Trujillo
PS: Sharon, the waitress here at Posa's, just added a Dean button to her flair! [Blog for America]

Jerome Signs His John Hancock on the Declaration
Guest Writer: Jerome Wiley Segovia.
The matching funds decision we just made as a community, and the fact that we found ourselves in a position to have to make this decision, has actually helped us by making very clear what our next challenge is and the scale of that challenge. The challenge is to continue to successfully reach more and more Americans, as they begin tuning into the rapidly approaching election cycle. I have no doubts that as we begin to see coverage of the first primaries, we will see an unprecedented number of our fellow Americans participating by contributing to our campaign in whatever amounts they can afford.

Visions
Yield To Total Elation. Several years ago, I saw a remarkable exhibition at the San Francisco MOMA; it featured a collection of elaborately beautiful architectural drawings by one, Achilles G. Rizzoli. Rizzoli was possessed by visions of a sort of utopian theme park called... [Eye of the Goof]

The Word That You Heard
Word of Mouth. I feel that word of mouth is the best advertisement there is. It is honest and not hype. It propelled Nouveau Flamenco to amazing sales figures and I hope that word of mouth will make our internet sales adventure work out as well. I feel that making free songs available in our Listening Lounge will encourage people to return to our web site often and will hopefully attract new listeners. I am also counting on the fact that by investing in you by spending time and money on bringing you free downloads instead of spending resources on conventional advertising, that I can inspire your word of mouth. If you like the free downloads, please tell your friends about them. Server space and especially download capacity cost money and we are betting on attracting new listeners and CD-buyers to make this work. I want a grass-roots growth, something that expands slowly but surely and is not based on hype. This feels more real to me. This is also the reason why I never moved to Los Angeles, even if it means that I might never do a cool movie soundtrack: Santa Fe keeps me real and simple.
I think the next Luna Negra (red field) album, La Semana will be the big make-or-break point for our adventure. I am aware of the fact that I have to write and record a great album that inspires people to talk about it and recommend it - nothing like putting more pressure on myself - and then I will count on all of you to help spread the word if I can indeed come up with a great album of music. I am hoping to be able to release the CD sometime in Spring of next year. [Ottmar Liebert]

Leona
Leona Naess/Badly Drawn Boy.
Leona Naess was awesome at the 9:30 club last night. She played 4-5 songs from her new new cd and also played a few of the more popular songs from her other two albums (that I know of). Badly Drawn Boy rocked too.
I took the picture above with a Fuji disposable camera and scanned it on a Nikon Super Coolscan 8000ED for Edd. [Matt Croydon::postneo]

Guest Writer Signs a Declaration
Guest Writer: Peng Her.
Its an honor to have been invited by Gov. Dean to participate in such an important and historical event like this. The reason I decided to come today was becase I felt it was time we as citizens take an active role in how our country is run. It doesn't matter how much money you make whether it's $1/hr or $100/hr because come Election day in November each person get one vote. Thus its imperative that we the people have a government that is for the people by the people. And the only way to do this is to get involved and vote on Election day so that the our elected officials represent what the people want, not what large corporation or whoever has the most money wants.
As a Hmong America, there are many obstacles we as a community face. These include immigration and detaining of Hmong by the Homeland Security, Temporary Assistance to Needy Family (TANF), Normalizing Trade Relations with Laos, Education, and the economy.
I believe strongly in Gov. Dean and his support of minority issues, civil rights pertaining to immigration, and the detaining of Hmong Americans by the Homeland Security that awaits deportation back to Laos.
Gov. Dean stand for the average American and not for big corporations or special interest groups. He supports early childhood development and education which is vital to the future of America.
These are all reasons why I strongly support Gov. Dean for President and it was a previlege to be part of the signing of the Declaration of Indepedence and being part of the American future.
