From Maui
Big Surf at Jaws!. While ya'll wait for me to mount another good blather on the mic, here's some videos of the action that took place off the north shore over the last few weeks. The legendary surf at "Jaws" has been pumping and not only were there real pros among the crowds, but someone actually brought back movies.

This year Jaws season matched the tourist seaon so there were huge crowds stomping all over the pineapple crop beside the highway, and blocking traffic between Hana and Haiku. The Quiksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau Big Wave Competition even got going while the mountains moved. In spite of this being just before Christmas, a big chunk of the labor pool on Maui vanished! You couldn't find a carpenter or a painter here for weeks!
Notes for good viewing:
1. Ignore the Windows Media feed, it sucks. Choose a Quicktime feed, but hit the PAUSE button and let it all download before playing so you can get a sense of how FAST these maniacs are going.
2. Once the movie has loaded, you can save it to your own computer by clicking the down-pointing arrow on the bottom right side of the QuickTime window. Choose "Save as QuickTime movie."
3. Stay out of the water unless you can fly!
