In line with their commitment to the growth and development of surfing in Indonesia, Quiksilver has confirmed support as presenting sponsor for the Dompu Indonesian Open presented by Quiksilver lifting the events rating to six star prime and positioning it as the richest Indonesian Surfing Championship (ISC) tour event ever. A fitting return to the famed Lakey Peak in east Sumbawa! With it's proximity to Bali and well developed tourist infrastructure, Sumbawa has become a prime surf destination in Indonesia attracting hundreds of surfers each week to sample the legendary waves of Lakey Peak and Lakey Pipe. Understanding the potential of this valuable natural resource the Dompu Regency Government has brought back professional surfing as a vehicle to promote the area to a wider audience. The 6 Star Prime event will also be the only leg of the tour surfed outside of Bali for the 2007 competitive season.
