(E-mail sent on Thursday, February 17th, 2005.)
To Mediaburn Readers,
February has been a strong month for web traffic to Mediaburn.net and the Mediaburn Radio Weblog. We're listed at number 52 in the Top 100 most popular feeds from Feedster subscribers - http://www.feedster.com/top100.php
Some truly nice comments were delivered by e-mail recently. Thanks go out to ALL the Mediaburn.net readers and contributors.
Mediaburn.net has been online for almost 4 years. It began in the midst of the technology crash and ensuing depression. Believe me, in the telecom and internet fields, the crash and collapse was almost unparalleled. Things are better now, thank goodness, but - the internet has changed. In one respect, the internet has certainly failed to deliver "on time" what many of us thought it would bring. No question about that. In another light, the internet still continues to grow and holds much promise.
One question to ask now is, "What is the result, the effect of the internet on the world?"
The internet's effects are many and I believe we are feeling the benefits of this new network in very mundane, offline ways. It changes the story of our lives.
The online experience is just a small part of what the internet does. A song on a portable music device is just another small part. A book that you buy online is another small part. A bit of political opinion is another. A friend or aquaintance from the internet is another. This list goes on.
So then - what effect do these things have on you? On your life?
Mediaburn will continue to do new things and offer new products, both online and offline. The last 4 years have essentially been a successful prototype. Thank you again.
