Bill R.: Did you hear the shot fired? Netscape (the child) has just been shot dead by Microsoft, while AOL (the parent) moved out of the way, lured by money. I'm being a bit harsh, but I just can't believe how our government is standing by while Microsoft continues their monopolistic ways.

This will have big impacts on all of us - anyone who uses a browser (is there anyone who doesn't?) In six months time 98% of us will be using IE; the other 2%, one of those other browsers (I for one will stay with Safari, thank you Apple.)

Lot's of choices for us consumers - thanks too much Mr. Gates.

MSNBC: Microsoft, AOL settle browser suit. MS pays AOL $750 million. Web developers get $0. Web users get a buggy browser. Looks like AOL is switching back to MSIE. Rob Enderle is quoted in article, says AOL is divesting Netscape. Huh? Article written by Jon Bonne, the guy I debated. [Scripting News]
