Carrying the Lantern

Bill R.: I've felt for awhile that this was true. The joke around the Pentagon years ago when I worked there was 'Are you a PowerPoint warrior?' In the context of today's REAL warrior activities in Iraq, it may not seem so funny.

And to conclude, as NASA did, that PowerPoint use contributed to loss of life has got to be a nightmare for Microsoft. Thouhg it really is not fair to blame them for how we use the prodcut.

However, this NASA conclusion should be a wake up call to all us business types who too often try to over-simplify complex challenges, issues, and problems in PowerPoint presentations.

But I think Edward Tufte is right.
