I made an OmniGraffle diagram [png or pdf] of next year's web site architecture. This year I tried to keep things simple and run everything through Zope, but that causes a number of little problems with your legacy content and users who are used to doing their static pages in a certain way. Plus next year I'll be virtually hosting Fortes' site, using Radio weblogs, getting more video and music on the site, and using SSL.
So I'll be putting Apache in front of ZServer & putting static and multimedia content in a few different places. It looks kinda scary, but it should be pretty standard stuff. I'll be getting up close and personal with httpd.conf.
