My Zope server went whacko today when I added a user at lunch.  I'm not sure what went wrong.  I do go through a rather retarded sequence of steps to add a portal user.  It would be nice if CMF provided a tool for such a common task.  Anyhow, somehow all my pages were creating self-referential loops, and my admin password was broken.  I finally fixed the password with zpasswd.py, and then was able to get into the administrative interface and undo the last few transactions.  It was a tense 80 minutes of work, though.  That's the problem with getting people to actually use the website.  They need it to work all the time. 9:37:33 PM    comment []
