Foster Care wrongful death; DHS admits neglect
Sally Ann Schofield, a former DHS caseworker, suffocated her 5-year-old charge by taping her mouth shut for discipline. The DHS caseworker assigned to the home had neglected to make her most recent visit. The child's mother named the mother and some other individuals in DHS in a wrongful death lawsuit.

Brian Whitehouse, pre-release inmate, found dead.
Cumberland County Jail officials apparently could not determine, or were not forthcoming, about the cause of death for this soon-to-be-released inmate, even after an autopsy. Evidently the Sheriff's office is investigating whether CCJ procedures were responsible for the death.

The plan going forward.
Basically, I'm going to start with attempting to build the MCLU news portion of this site, which is really the center, and then try to expand the other news sources for the CLU around that. So prepare yourself for coming CLU news. Yippe.
