Supreme Court Review of Sex Offender Laws
The Supreme Court has accepted a case from Connecticut addressing the due process questions in widely publishing the name and picture of every resident convicted of any sex crime. The court may address whether convicted offenders are entitled to an individual review of their possible future threat before being published in an undifferentiated directory.

Challenges to freedom of religion continue to perpetually develop throughout the United States, including in Maine. Although the family in question in this case are atheists, it is important to remember that Freedom of Religion affords equal protection to both "freedom 'from' religion" and "freedom of religion": vigorously upholding the standard of religious freedom in the United States is the best environment for rich religious diversity.
