Compromise on mental health bill (UK)
Story in the Guardian - "Health ministers have persuaded David Blunkett, the home secretary, to water down proposals in the mental health bill that would have allowed the compulsory treatment of potentially dangerous people who had committed no crime. A revised bill will be presented to a parliamentary scrutiny committee next month providing extra safeguards for mentally ill people."
