This weekend no flying, since I sacificed Saturday and then Sunday sick with a 36hr flu. But the weekend before two flights, one HG, PG.
Saturday 22nd took off late-ish (2.30pm) and basically got kicked around a lot. Only got over to Nudo, never very high (1500 ish), the thermals were all over the place. Wan't so much that the glider was uncontrollable, just very rough and unpleasant. Only enjoyable part was going over to Picutz and after sinking from 1000m to 600m, climbed out and through an MR700... landed cross wind with steps but running it in is fine too. While I dismantled I learnt that most of the better pilots seem to have gone to Tamaro and back... have to say that I respected that. Today was rough. I had decided after 30mins that it wasn't fun and I was better off out of there. Maybe it was a bit better when they went (earlier).
Sunday after I decided at 4pm to go and do a para flight. FInally got off a bit late (5.40pm) and missed the best of the glass off: a student pilot in front went off and out and just climbed for a kilometer going in a straight line. I had to scratch a bit but that was also OK, and landed after 30mins. Nothing eventful, except I nearly overshot the LZ (mixed up the best glide and min sink positions, seem reversed compared to the HG.
