Visit the following sites and take the tutorials. Read up on the various non-linear audio editors. K-92 uses Cubase, DJ Tracktor, Wavelab lite, and Cool Edit 2000.
Search on any of the terms in Google to find out more about the products.
Other non-linear editors include Bias Peak, Pro Tools, Sonic Foundry, and Aboretum.
Many of these programs have free versions as well as demos and tutorials. By going through the help files you can get a better idea how all non-linear audio editors work on a general level. You can also learn what can be done with audio editing. Try out some of the programs at home and play around.
There will a short quiz on the Cubase and Cool Edit tutorials on Tuesday.
Also for Tuesday, Chapter Three.

Listen to an hour of commercial radio. Identify and list every element in that hour in order. What songs were played? What order were they played in? How long did the jock talk? Were there spacers? How long were they? What about the commercials, how long was the individual commercials and how long was the entire spotset? News? Weather? How long were they? Was bed music used?
Basically, list everything that happens in an hour of radio with a timestamp of when it happened.
