Looking for a voice, thinking about an audience
So far, I've only told a few friends that I'm working on this log, in part because I'm not sure what form I want it to take. Some of these pieces are things that, in the past, I sent as email to a few people of like temperament that I work with. In other cases, I'm "knowledge logging", . Preserving what you've learned is hard; learning what your predecessors knew is even harder. Sometimes I'm writing for my friends, and want to talk about politics, or Madison, or just what a beautiful day it is.
I've started upstreaming some of the more work-related entries to both this log and to an internal webserver. Today, at least, I'm thinking of surrounded by reality as my weblog, with a subset of it available elsewhere as a more focused version for the people I work with.
