Some people have the idea click more easily than others. My own workgroup, for example, has been filing "contact reports" via a web frontend and a homebrew mail-to-the-database system backend, Regular browsing of the database is how we track each other's work: most of the time we're out of our offices on campus somewhere, and may only see each other once or twice a week. The difference between this and a shared blog is mostly one of format.
Similarly, managers who've fought the monthly battle of getting a meaningful status report report out frequently tell their staff to "write it out daily", which sounds a lot like keeping your blog up to date.
