Connected
This is my first conference with truly ubiquitous wireless usage. Larry Faulkner, during the plenary session, said that "I've never seen so many illuminiated torso. It's a tribute to Steve Sample [the previous speaker] that when he started talking, a lot of those torsos went dark."
There's a downside to that. For most of yesterday, I was having trouble getting access that turned out to be traceable to a number of misconfigured laptops that were acting as Access Points. I'd hook up to Blogger.com, write something, start to post it...blam, cannot find the server. It's gotten better today, though, as the USC people who are serving as tech support to the conference have been working to find and fix the problems.
