Accidentally like a martyr

Pirates of the U.S. Naval Academy. Officials at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, confiscate the computers of 100 midshipmen suspected of sharing copyrighted music and movies. [Wired News]

The saddest quote is from the New York Times story:

"They hold the midshipman to a higher standard," said a naval officer, who declined to be identified because of the continuing investigation of the students at the academy. "They are the next generation of combat leaders. They can't be allowed to violate federal law and think that it's O.K."

If the government wants to start establishing trust in its chain of command, it could start by reforming the current Commander in Chief's fondness for employing convicted criminals like retired Admiral John Poindexter.
