Cieslewicz is on the news now. His opening statement was to thank Paul Soglin for running a good race and for "all of his contributions to Madison. He is Madisonian of the Century." He also thanked Bauman for "leaving us a city in good shape."
Both of them were classier than outgoing mayor Sue Bauman, who took her last chance at the spotlight to slug away again at two candidates who are both a lot more popular than she is.
Good luck, Dave. The people that I know who voted for you were voting for change, and for hope, but weren't particularly voting against Soglin. At 5 PM I was the 645th voter at my precinct; that's a big turnout for an election with no big state or national race to draw people out.
