glue 5.0.1 and fabric 1.0.1 went G/A last week. because of my new role, i don't work with those products nearly as deeply as i used to anymore, but it's great to see them continuing to progress. their individual roadmaps are very impressive, but it's the integration between them and the rest of the company's products that is the most exciting.

depending on the breadth of the microsoft/sun settlement, it will be interesting to see if MS adds native support for java byte codes into the CLR. this would allow any program written in java, including any libraries that it uses, to directly execute on the CLR, and would allow MS to deprecate their existing Java VM.

i gave my new bicycle its first test drive today, down the rock creek parkway that is a beautiful road with a good dose of hills. the bike (a janis coda) behaved great, and i highly recommend it. being able to quickly select from one of 24 different gears made both the downhill and uphill parts of the journey pretty easy.

i'm officially addicted to "sex and the city". i watched the last few episodes of series 6, and loved it. so i decided to order a DVD collection of the first 5 series and have already watched about 16 episodes. it's like eating candy. each episode is so well done that when one is over, you immediately want to watch the next!
