This morning in hockey school we did some backwards skating.  If I pratice what I learned this morning, I should be able to accomplish the goal of learning the perform backwards cross overs!

Still recovering from the weekend nutritional debacle.  I gotten back down to about last weeks weight of 294... I'm hoping to drop a couple more pounds before Monday's weigh-in.

Something I didn't mention about the weekend was what happened to a player on the opposing team in our first game of family hockey tournament.  About a minute into the second period, I'm sitting on the bench and across the ice from me, a guy falls over.  Nobody touched him.  He just fell. He tries to get up and doesn't make it past his hands and knees before going down again.  It takes a few seconds for the play to stop and people wander over. 

At this point I'm thinking he must have pulled or twisted something and it hurts like hell.  The crowd around him starts to grow and they appear to be very worried.  About 2 minutes after he's fallen a young lady is brought out on the ice and she begins administering CPR.  I dawns on the boys on the bench at this point that he's had a heart attack.  Over 20 minutes go by before an ambulance arrives (the arena is in the middle of nowhere).

He died. It was a family hockey tournament. His whole team (or most it) is related to him. His wife and kids are in the stands. His grandfather died the week before and he was a pall bearer.  He was only 43.
