Gesturing With Your Mouse
An add-on for Mozilla that has been available for quite a while is one that allows you to do something called "mouse gesturing". By holding down a specific button and then moving your mouse in predefined motions, you can cause the browser to do certain things like go back a page, open a new browser window, print, etc.. If you are a palm user, this is very similar to the graffiti writing that you command your palm with. Bitart Consulting has now released a piece of software called "Cocoa Gestures" that allows you to use this type of input style in any cocoa application on your OS X computer. It has a lot of configuration options on it and is customizable for each application. I was able to create a new message in mail by writing an "N" on the screen. The hardest part isn't getting it up and configured, it's remembering what all of the commands are. Maybe I can find a few that are helpful and use those. Regardless, Cocoa Gestures is something different and fun.
