Jobs For President? Not This Time
A grassroots campaign to persuade Apple's CEO Steve Jobs to run for President of the United States was launched on the Web last week, but it was over almost as soon as it began. (Wired News via MyAppleMenu)

Does anyone really want a personality like Jobs' in the top office? I don't think that he's ever gotten great marks for "plays well with others". It could be interesting.

No More Opera for the Mac?
C|Net here argues for the third-party software developer and says that when Apple puts out software it discourages others from doing the same. Hmmm... Opera on the Macintosh has always sucked in performance and UI. Maybe thier committment to the platform has always been weak at best and they have been looking for an excuse to get out.

The only question/concern that I have regarding this is that supposedly this was the browser that Macromedia was going to base their Macintosh products on, most visibly, Contribute. Maybe this has changed with the release of Safari.
