Game Boy moves forward amid new threats
Japanese game maker Nintendo expects to continue to dominate the portable gaming market, despite renewed threats from the cell phone industry. By David Becker, Staff Writer, CNET News.com. [CNET News.com]

I've seen a few phone games and honestly they were better than I expected, but the form of the phone doesn't provide anywhere near the experience that the gameboy does. I don't forsee any real threat here. I think a lot of this convergence stuff is strange anyway. I don't want to play games on a phone. I don't want to talk on the phone on my gameboy. Look were all of the computer/tv convergence discussions of 3 or 4 years back has gotten us. We still use the computer for the internet and the TV to watch, uh, TV. Consumers prove over and over that they prefer specialized devices over multiple-purpose devices.
