Pixar Switches From Sun To Intel
Pixar Animation Studios, which brought the world Monsters Inc. and Toy Story, is switching from Sun Microsystems to Intel, as the melodrama in the server market heats up. (CNET News.com via MyAppleMenu) [myapplemenu]

I think that you are eventually going to see nearly everyone move to intel-compatible solutions. There is just nobody else out there that is so focused on chips for microcomputers and perhaps more importantly, has the resources to pour into that focus. There seems to be more stories of loss than gain for Sun lately. Motorola has a lot more to think about than processors and even when they do, they are developing those chips for not only desktop computers but portable devices, including their own phones. My greatest hope for the PowerPC chip lies with IBM who, while working on many many projects, has the money to effectively do so.
