Peace in progress! Here, something constructive is being done.ICAHD is a non-violent, direct-action group originally established to oppose and resist Israeli demolition of Palestinian houses in the Occupied Territories.
As our activists gained direct knowledge of the brutalities of the Occupation, we expanded our resistance activities to other areas - land expropriation, settlement expansion, by-pass road construction, policies of "closure" and "separation," the wholesale uprooting of fruit and olive trees and more. The fierce repression of Palestinian efforts to "shake off" the Occupation following the latest Intifada has only added urgency to our efforts.
As a direct-action group, ICAHD is comprised of members of many Israeli peace and human rights organizations. All of our work in the Occupied Territories is closely co-ordinated with local Palestinian organizations.

"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say that there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe." -- Frank Zappa. [Scripting News]One of my favorite musicians! [Zappa.com]

Vatican Excommunicates Seven Women [AP World News].Pope John Paul II has made clear he sees no room for debate about the possibility of opening up the priesthood to women. The Church says Jesus chose men to be his apostles and that the practice of ordaining only men must stand. (If Jesus would be alive today, he would probably chose men AND women to be his apostles. What do you think?) The excommucated women were identified as Mayr-Lumetzberger and Adelinde Theresia Roitinger, both of Austria; Gisela Forster, Iris Muller, Ida Raming and Pia Brunner, all of Germany; and Angela White of the United States.

Saudis block access to the net. Saudis block access to 2000 sites:If you tried to look at Rolling Stone magazine on the web from Saudi Arabia, you would find that access has been denied.
You would not have much luck either if you tried the American women's lifestyle site iVillage.com.
These sites are among the 2,000 blocked by the Saudi Government, a Harvard Law School has found. [Link]

Château Peybonhomme-Les-Tours and Château La Grolet. Both are excellent wines at a descent price. Both are made from organically grown grapes. Peybonhomme-Les-Tours is a "Premières Côtes de Blaye" wine: A wine constant in quality, that never disappoints. The typical expression of the Merlot grape, with all its fruit, makes this wine perfect for any occasion. The dominating red fruit combined with spicy notes. The aromatic palate is very large, ensuring a harmonious future for this wine. The balance is evident from the attack right through to the finish. La Grolet is a "Côtes de Bourg" wine: Colourful, great aromatic finesse and a complex structure. Round and rich in the mouth, with a long finish that leaves a pleasant mineral sensation so characteristic of great Côtes de Bourg. If you happen to be nearby (Bordeaux or Blaye), the chateau is a nice place to visit and the owner, Jean-Luc Hubert, is a charming host who will certainly transmit his passion for wine and wine making.
