 SILVERS ROUND OFF IMPRESSIVE TRIP DOWN UNDER

Britain's swimmers rounded off an impressive trip to Melbourne with two silver medals courtesy of Mark Foster and Zoe Baker on the third and final day of the Australian leg of the FINA World Cup.
Foster faced a world class field in the 50m Freestyle and, in one of the closest finals of the meet, just missed out on the touch to Pieter van den Hoogenband of the Netherlands with a time of 21.72.

 FRANCIS MARKS COMEBACK WITH GOLD

Robin Francis announced his return to competition at the Bath Speedo Grand Prix by beating a top class field in the 200m Individual Medley to take gold and post a time just shy of his personal best. The University of Bath swimmer was forced to pull out of this summer's Commonwealth Games in Manchester suffering with chronic fatigue and four months on he has only just returned to full training.

 SQUAD USE GRAND PRIX TO PREPARE FOR EUROPE

With eyes focused upon next week's European Short Course Championships in Germany, Britain's squad were in action tonight at the Bath Speedo Grand Prix.
Fast times were never going to be the target for the 15-strong squad, most of which are using the Bath event to build towards the Riesa championsips, as they are currently in the grip of a punishing training regime devised by British Swimming National Performance Director Bill Sweetenham.
