CROWDS flocked to the opening of a brand-new centre for arts and performance in Dalston.

More than people attended the launch of the Dalston Culture House at the junction of Gillett Street and Bradbury Street.

The centre is part of Gillett Square, a £17 million site for performing arts.

It cost £1.4 million and is home to the new Vortex Jazz Club as well as therapeutic arts organisation, The Studio Upstairs.
