East London Line extension row jeopardises Olympic bid

Procurement delays and doubts over funding for the proposed £750M East London Line extension were this week threatening to undermine the project.

If not resolved the delays could also seriously damage the capital’s bid for the 2012 Olympics as the extension is vital to relieving congestion on the Jubilee Line, one of the key public transport links to the Olympic sites in east London. [AJplus] registration required
