This Search Engine Watch article lists the lawsuits over meta tags (those things that tag the content of a web site and make it easy for searching and discovery of information) and why each case is important. Trademark infringements (using trademarked names like Playboy, DigiKnow) seem to be the most common reasons for these lawsuits. Metatags are used as hidden keywords and we now need to be careful not to use trademarks as keywords. Does Catalogablog discuss this? You bet it does!!! See this new, hot off the presses article on Death of a Meta Tag by Danny Sullivan (the SearchEngine Watch guy).
