On the Microsoft FTP server leak. Oh dear, oh dear [The Register]

It seems that once a week, at least, one reads about some Microsoft security exposure, either in their licensed software or their internal systems.  This notwithstanding Bill Gates' earnest declaration some months ago that security was priority #1.

How does a Mickey Mouse company like this become a monolopy, who can ship buggy, unreliable and vulnerable products, and yet publish results showing an 85% margin on crappy software like Windows?

I think the world has had the wool pulled over its eyes.  At least, it seems, MS will not dominate the market for smart phones (one hopes).

The Brown Daily Herald interviews Ellen Feiss, and she's every bit as wise and hilarious as you might think she would be. [Scripting News]

Doesn't the web throw up the unlikeliest and wierdest stories?  And they get huge circulation!  Remember Mahir Cagri ("I Kiss You!")?  Can it really be three years ago?
