Still on rugby:  Dan Retief nicely captures the feeling of "what might have been" induced by the announcement that Bob Skinstad may be turning his back on SA Rugby.  Let's hope he sneaks his way into the World Cup side and plays a blinder. 5:39:06 PM    comment []

Wat 'n Doos! SA Rugby has a new racism scandal, just two days before the World Cup team is announced. Lock Geo Cronje has been booted out of the Bok training camp, quite justifiably.  After all the injury setbacks and poor performances, this has to be the last thing Rudolf Straueli needs, and the repercussions are likely to be quite severe, putting more pressure on the team and the management.  What a misguided young man - I hope the counselling does him and all like him, some good.  Despite his promising debut against the All Blacks recently, he has no place in a Bok team, and let's hope if there more closet racists in there, that they get exposed and booted out too. At the time of the Chester Williams affair last year, this sort of thing was hinted at - let's hope this engenders some form of catharsis. 5:16:29 PM    comment []
