Not Enough Troops? This major article from the Sunday NYT raises the question of how the seemingly  brilliant and speedy invasion of  Iraq in the Spring of 2003, was allowed to descend into the current apparent mess.  While probably not the whole story, it does echo other reports.  There is not a discussion about the fact that the contretemps with Turkey resulted in the fact that the northern incursion which was intended to pacify the Sunni Triangle, among other things, did not happen. There obviously is, and will be, plenty of discussion on this topic;  the more sensible probably coming after the US Presidential Election is over. 6:02:16 PM    comment []
