Cricket, Lovely Cricket
After 5 days of test cricket, where fortunes swayed back and
forth every day, as they have done throughout an enthralling series,
England surprisingly clinched it with 8 overs to go. Great batting by Trescothick, great bowling from Hoggard, and a superb team performance
from a team which seemed to be down and out at the end of the Cape Town
test, ten days earlier. Great support from fans of both sides,
big crowds and (mostly) good playing conditions - could it be better?
Let's hope that SA can similarly pick themselves up for the 5th and final match starting Friday. Neil Manthorp is not hopeful. Meanwhile, the English press is celebrating in typical fashion.
